Picket Fence Memories - Frequently Asked Questions

Transferring Pictures

The easiest way for you to transfer your pictures from your computer to Picket Fence Memories is to burn the pictures to a CD-ROM and mail it to us. A few things to note:
  • Make sure to send the highest resolution pictures you have. Sometimes when we send pictures over the internet they get resized so the file size is not to large for email. However, for your DVD the highest resolution picture (the original from the camera) ensures the best quality playback. Most original pictures from your camera will be anywhere from 2-6 megabytes in size. Make sure to copy those to the CD.
  • Categorize your pictures in advance. If you put the pictures into separate folders on the CD it will speed up the process of making the different slideshows for your DVD. For example, on the travel shots sample DVD, the pictures came to us already divided between the two locations. This made the process faster and ensured the pictures were in the appropriate album.

Other methods would include setting up a private FTP account for those with advanced internet knowledge or emailing pictures to our account. Regardless, there are many different ways to send us your pictures and we will be happy to work with you to make the process as fast and seamless as possible.

Time to DVD

The process should usually only take about 5 business days from the date we receive all your pictures. The sooner the pictures are transferred the faster the project will be completed. We will email you and update each client webpage (your login and password will be available once you purchase a package) nightly so you will be aware of the status of your project. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Samples

Yes! We have samples available for you to view. All of these samples simulate what the final DVD project looked like. The main DVD screen is presented along with each slideshow. NOTE: The viewing window for the slideshows is much smaller - normally it would be the size of your TV screen!
